Why the Bias Cut Works
Cutting fabric on the bias means cutting it diagonally against the grain rather than straight along it. It takes more material and more time, but the result is a skirt that follows the body instead of hanging off it.
Our Celeste skirt is cut this way in every colourway. Plain satin in black, blush, nude, sage green and light blue for the versions that go quietly with everything, and a diamond print in black or navy for something with more presence. The midi length sits just below the knee on most heights.
They are easier to wear than satin often looks. Flat shoes and a knit for daytime, heels and a cowl neck top for evening, or a shirt tucked in loosely to dress it down entirely. Sizes run from 6 to 20.
The nude and blush work particularly well under a longer coat through colder months, which makes them less seasonal than they first appear.
